The LDC is a two-day day camp hosted by the American Red Cross Southwest Washington Youth Council in which participants were:

· Be introduced to the American Red Cross

· Learn about what youth do in our local American Red Cross chapter from school clubs to the chapter-wide Youth Council

· Learn CPR or First Aid

· Build teambuilding and leadership skills through games and sessions led by Youth Council members

· Learn about International Humanitarian Law, Disaster Preparedness, and the Measles Initiative

· Make friends and have fun!

The Leadership Development Camp 2008 was at the Northwest Regional Training Center fro 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on January 12 and 13, 2008. The address is:

11606 NE 66th Circle, Suite 103

Vancouver, WA 98662

The LDC is a valuable opportunity to get involved in unique and interesting community service, develop leadership skills, get trained in CPR or First Aid, and make new friends. The skills you learn at the camp will be priceless—you may later save a life, lead an organization better, and truly make a difference in the community!

The LDC costs only $25.00, including the cost of lunch and snacks on both days, CPR or First Aid training, and a T-shirt—a value of more than $50, not to mention priceless leadership training!

We're planning on organizing another successful LDC next year, so keep your ears open for any news about LDC 2009!
